'Stoop' on Endangered Species list
Ice Cube attached to star

November 8, 1999 - By Charles Lyons

Endangered Species Pictures, the urban specialty arm of HSI-Tomorrow Films, has optioned the Jean Claude LaMarre-penned "Stoop."

"Stoop," ESP's first pic, is planned as a Cube Vision production with actor/rapper Ice Cube attached to star. Lensing will begin early next year with LaMarre at the helm.

Matt Alvarez of Cube Vision and Aaron Ray of management company the Firm will produce alongside ESP's Darryl Taja. Exec producers will be Endangered's Yoram Pelman, Stavros Merjos and Adam Rosenfelt, along with Ice Cube and the Firm's Michael Green. Rick Salomon will co-produce.

"Stoop" revolves around two best friends who can't think of any better way to spend a hot summer day in Brooklyn than to relax on their building's front porch.
HSI produced the Mack 10 vehicle "Thicker Than Water" for Priority Records. Pic was recently released by Palm Pictures.

Cube Vision recently wrapped "Next Friday" for New Line Cinema.

Early this year, HSI-Tomorrow financed and produced Jordan Brady's romantic comedy "The Third Wheel" in association with Pearl Street Prods. Pic, featuring Luke Wilson, Ben Affleck, Jay Lacopo and Denise Richards, was acquired by Miramax and will be released next year.

LaMarre is repped by Jeff Okin of Metropolitan Talent Agency.
