Malone seated at 'Picnic' table Apr. 12, 2001 - By Ian Mohr and Zorianna Kit Jena Malone is set to star in the dark comedy indie feature "Lifers' Picnic" for director Jordan Brady and HSI-Tomorrow Films. Shooting is slated to begin next month. The title refers to a picnic for inmates imprisoned for life. The story written by Scott Sandoe follows a girl (Malone) who visits her lifer father on the day of the picnic. HSI-Tomorrow, which specializes in music videos, is producing and financing the project, budgeted at less than $10 million. Tomorrow Films will handle worldwide distribution. The company is in postproduction on the Brady-helmed feature "The Third Wheel," which Ben Affleck and Matt Damon co-produced. Miramax is distributing. Malone stars in the HBO feature "Cheaters" and Columbia's "Stepmom." She is repped by United Talent Agency and attorney Michael Fuller. Malone most recently was before the cameras for the Jodie Foster-produced "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys." Brady's helming credits include Miramax's "Wakin' Up in Reno." He is repped by WMA, manager Scott Fedro and attorney Adam Kaller. |
